The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Philippine Cup is set to resume its 45th Season on October 11, with the games to be officially held at the Angeles University Foundation Sports and Cultural Center (AUF-SCC).
Dubbed as the ‘PBA Bubble’–the only conference of the season that will be played in compact, two-month stretch, the game format is similar to the National Basketball Association where players, coaches and team staff are billeted in one location—at the Quest Hotel in Mimosa, Clark. The delegation will be transported to and from the AUF gym, following stringent Bubble protocols.
For its part, the University management will closely observe the health and safety guidelines prescribed by the Inter-agency Task Force (IATF), in coordination with the Clark Development Corporation, Bases Conversion and Development Authority, and the PBA organizing committee.
Built in 2012, the AUF Sports and Cultural Center is designed by world-renowned architectural design firm Jose Siao Ling and Associates. The AUF-SCC houses modern facilities dedicated to sports, culture and the arts, such as a performance hall, and state-of-the-art Gared Pro basketball goals and Robbins All-Star Maple basketball floor used in the best arenas of the NBA. The complex has been serving as one of the region’s premier sporting venue for national and international events, including the 30th SEA Games last December.
